Welcome to the Athletic Counseling site for Fresno City College Athletics! It is our mission to ensure that all FCC student-athletes receive sound academic counseling through comprehensive educational plans, student-athlete success courses and advising workshops. The athletic counselors are also a great resource for on-campus services, transfer planning, and NCAA/NAIA information.
Fresno City College employs counselors designated specifically to athletic counseling, so at any time throughout the week you will be able to contact or schedule an appointment with one of them.
You must identify yourself as a student-athlete for them to schedule you, and you must be an active member of a Fresno City athletic team. Potential student-athletes should contact the coach of the sport they are interested in directly. Once they are added to a team, they are able to receive services from Athletic Counseling staff.

Each FCC athletic team attends two advising workshops per school year. All student-athletes are advised individually, and ed plans are set in place before priority registration. All FCC student-athletes receive at least an abbreviated Student Ed Plan (or SEP-A) for their first semester. For the next semester, if not already completed, they will receive a comprehensive plan outlining all the courses required to graduate and/or transfer from Fresno City College to a 4-year university. It is important to keep these ed plans as a resource during your time at FCC. They are specific to each student-athlete’s transfer goals and educational needs. Any diversion from the plan should be cleared with an athletic counselor.
Counseling 53 – Each summer, athletic counseling staff teaches a 3-unit section of COUN 53, College Life & Management, specifically for incoming student- athletes. Topics covered include: transition to a college setting, time management, health & wellness, study strategies and life skills. NCAA/NAIA transfer rules and FCC graduation planning are also discussed. To register for this course, contact an athletic counselor for the schedule number in late Spring or early summer.
